(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) It was a very busy September 14-16 weekend for the Conley Motorsports, Inc. teams, as they competed in four separate events in the states of Ohio and West Virginia. R.J. Conley only entered one show over the weekend, but he made it count, as he claimed a $2,000 victory on Saturday at the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. R.J. set fast time in qualifying, won the dash, and later dominated the main event en route to capturing his third win of the 2012 campaign over Josh Bocook, Kenny Christy, Kevin Wagner, and Lee Logan. By virtue of his performance at PRP on Saturday and throughout the year, the Wheelersburg, Ohio native also claimed the 2012 Track Championship at the southern Ohio venue!

Rod Conley also reached victory lane over the weekend, as his win came on Friday night at the Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Rod ran fourth in the dash and later grabbed the point on lap 19 and led the remainder of the 25-lapper on his way to the $2,000 triumph over Paul Davis and Mike Wilson. On Saturday at the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio, “Hot Rod” finished second in the dash prior to notching a strong runner-up performance in the $5,000 to win ‘Harvest 50’ behind only winner Josh McGuire. The tripleheader weekend for the #71r team concluded on Sunday at the renovated West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, West Virginia and Rod crossed underneath the checkers fifth in the $3,000 to win ADRA main event behind only winner Donnie Moran, Eddie Carrier, Jr., Jared Hawkins, and Doug Drown.

Delmas Conley, the patriarch of the racing Conley family, entered the same three events as his son Rod did over the September 14-16 weekend. After winning the dash on Friday at Southern Ohio Speedway, Delmas was leading the main event until an incident with a lapped car dropped him to a disappointing twelfth place effort. On Saturday at Skyline in the annual ‘Harvest 50,’ Delmas ran third in his heat race prior to recording another twelfth place finish in the 50-lapper. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer then wrapped up his triple shot of racing action on Sunday with a ninth place outing at the slimmed-down 4/10-mile West Virginia Motor Speedway. Full results from the long weekend can be viewed online at www.dirtondirt.com.

All three Conley’s will get back after it this Saturday night, September 22, as they will travel to the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. A weekly Dirt Late Model program will headline the night’s racing activity at PRP and a $2,000 top prize will be on the line.
