BARBECUE 100 TAKES THE GREEN FLAG FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH
Paducah, KY- September 27, 2012- Paducah International Raceway will host the first ever Barbecue 100 along with the 2012 Season Championships. Track co-owner Ken Schrader will be in racing action, a huge fireworks display will follow the races, and lots of fan give aways. Pit Gates open at 4:00 PM. Grandstands open at 5:00 PM. Hot Laps at 6:30 PM. Qualifying at 7:00 PM. Racing at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $15 for Adults. Children 12 and under are free. Pit Admission is $30.
Benton, Kentucky’s Tim Brown will realize his dream of his first Track Championship when the Super Late Models take to the track for a 25 Lap $1,500 to win Feature dedicated to the memory of UMP Founder Bob Memmer. Cameron Brown will also realize his dream of his first Championship in the 20 Lap $600 to win Pro (Crate) Late Model Feature. Multiple Track Champion JR Mason will pick up his first Modified Championship when the Modifieds hit the dirt in a $1,000 to win 20 Lap Feature dedicated to Bob Newton, founder of Hoosier Racing Tires, who died this past Wednesday. Former Track Champion Mike Watson sealed his bid for the Street Stock Championship early in the season heading into Friday’s $500 to win 20 Lap Street Stock Feature which is sponsored by Cunningham Machine, Decatur Used Cars, Jason’s Collision Center, and Tru Blue Services, LLC.. Also one lucky Street Stock driver will receive a $100 Gift Certificate courtesy of Nighthawk Chassis. Kyle Clark and Mat Hartman will battle it out to the final lap of the $150 to win 15 Lap 4-Cylinder Warrior Special sponsored by James Smith Heating and Cooling, Battery Outlet and Tires, Paducah Warehouse Furniture, and Charlie Barker’s Used Cars. In High School Warrior action, AJ Keeling and Daniel Edwards each will vie for their First Championship, and the Kentucky Vintage will also be in action.
Leaps of Love, an organization which provides help and support for families affected by childhood cancers, will be selling raffle tickets for a 2008 Rayburn Combo Race Car w/604 Crate or $10,000. Tickets are $20/each or 6 for $100. All proceeds benefit Leaps of Love. For more information, check their website at www.leapsoflove.org.
