Ray Cook Eyes Lucas Oil Series Georgia Double-Dip After EAMS Rain-Out

Lucas Oil Late Model Series(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook and the #53 D&R Motorsports team returned to competition on September 29-30 in the 34th edition of the ‘Alabama State Championships’ at the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama.

The Super Late Model portion of the program boasted a $7,000 top prize. Ray laid down the third quickest lap during the qualifying session on Saturday and later won his heat race. The Brasstown, North Carolina ace was then scheduled to start third on the grid in the A-Main on Sunday, but Mother Nature intervened and pushed back the 75-lapper to Sunday, October 14. Ray also competed in a Crate Late Model at EAMS and will roll off from the outside of the eighth row in the $5,000 to win main event. Additional information can be viewed online at www.eamsdirt.com.

Next up for the D&R Motorsports team will be a trip to the Peach State of Georgia on October 6-7 for a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns. Up first will be the annual running of the ‘Dixie Shootout’ on Saturday night at the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia, while the ‘Rome Rumble’ will close out the double-dip on Sunday evening at the Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia. Ray was the 2009 victor of the storied ‘Dixie Shootout’ and will be gunning for his second race title this weekend. More information can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
