Dirt Track World Championship - DTWC(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team headed to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 19-20 for the 32nd edition of the ‘Dirt Track World Championship.’ A total of 94 competitors piled into the pit area at PRP for the $50,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series finale, which also attracted the high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios. After Mother Nature took home the win on Friday night, the entire crown jewel event was condensed into a single day affair starting Saturday afternoon.

The Carpentersville, Illinois standout started his day by posting the twenty-first fastest lap in Group A during qualifying and finishing sixth in his loaded heat race. Dennis then advanced up to third in his B-Main, but that was unfortunately a mere spot away from a coveted transfer position into the 100-lap DTWC. His strong consolation race effort did give him a starting spot up front in the $3,000 to win ‘Jim Dunn Memorial’ for non-qualifiers. Dennis led the first half of the 30-lap event until a brush with a lapped car dropped him to a runner-up performance behind only winner Ray Cook. Complete results from the long day at PRP can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Dennis Erb Racing will now turn their focus to the 9th Annual ‘Cotton Pickin 100’ at the Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. The unsanctioned event on October 26-27 at “The Mag” boasts a $15,000 payday. Qualifying and heat race action will take place on Friday night, while the consolation events and the 100-lap A-Main are scheduled for Saturday evening. Dennis wound up a solid eighth in the final rundown of last year’s edition of the ‘Cotton Pickin 100,’ which is sponsored by Southern Belle Apparel.
