Springfield Raceway Announces Late Model Tire Rule For Remaining 2 Specials

Springfield Raceway  Springfield, Mo.- Officials at the Springfield Raceway have announced the Late Model Tire rule for the remaining 2 Late Model Specials upcoming at the Springfield, Missouri “Quick-Quarter” dirt-track.

The Hoosier WRS D55, The Hoosier LM40 and the Hoosier Spec 1600 tires will be the only tires allowed to compete in both the Home Pro Larry Phillips Memorial on Saturday November 3rd along with the KMJ Performance Turkey Bowl VI presented by Dirt Works Race Cars on Saturday November 17th.

The Larry Phillips Memorial event will pay $2575 to win and $475 to start the feature event as the Speedway and drivers pay honor to the Springfield Legend. Phillips,  who won 5 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Championships on Asphalt also had many career victories on dirt as well. John Anderson is the defending event winner and this will be the 4th season that Springfield Raceway has hosted the popular event. Racing will begin at 5PM, with hotlaps at 4PM and drivers meeting at 3:40. This will be the 3rd time in the history of the event that it will be unsanctioned since starting in 2002.

The KMJ Turkey Bowl VI  will pay $2,000 to the winner and $350 to start the very popular November race. “Action” Jack Sullivan is the defending event winner of the Turkey Bowl and there has yet to be a repeat Late Model winner since switching to the Late Models 3 seasons ago. Racing action will begin at 3PM with hotlaps starting at 1:30 and drivers meeting following.

MLRA/MARS Series rules apply to the car guidelines and Raceceivers are required. Entry Fee for each event will be $100 for the Late Models while pit passes are $35 for each event.
