(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook and the #53 D&R Motorsports team traveled to the immaculate Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina from November 1-3 for the ‘PEAK Motor Oil World of Outlaws World Finals.’ The pair of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series extravaganzas drew a stellar field of 72 competitors to the 4/10-mile speedplant located just outside of Charlotte. During the two-round qualifying session on Thursday night, Ray posted the 32nd fastest lap for Friday’s program and the 28th quickest circuit for Saturday’s showdown.

When the action really heated up on Friday evening, Ray ran fourth in his loaded heat race and fifth in his B-Main. Both finishes were unfortunately just shy of advancing the Brasstown, North Carolina driver into the 50-lap main event. On Saturday in front of the SPEED Channel cameras, Ray once again finished fourth in his heat race prior to grabbing the second transfer spot through his B-Main. After starting from the inside of the twelfth row in the 50-lapper, Ray picked off ten competitors in the ‘World Finals’ finale en route to a respectable thirteenth place effort. Full results from Charlotte can be viewed online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.

The D&R Motorsports team is now prepping their equipment for the 38th edition of the ‘National 100.’ The unsanctioned biggie at the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama will be held on November 10-11. Qualifying and heat race action is scheduled for Saturday at EAMS, while the consolation races and the 100-lap ‘National 100’ are slated for Sunday. A $20,000 top prize will be on the line and an additional $5,000 will be posted in lap money. Ray is also scheduled to enter a Crate Late Model this weekend to vie for a $5,000 winner’s check.
