Wheatland, MO (November 27th, 2012) – Each season at Lucas Oil Speedway continues to build upon the last, with new, bigger, and more exciting additions to the schedule. 2012 brought the addition of the B-Mod class, additional boat races and a Monster Truck Show. 2013 is set to bring all of those events back plus, two additional weekly races, a Demolition Derby and more lake events! Lucas Oil Speedway will also continue to partner with area businesses to offer bonus pay to the drivers in each of the four weekly racing classes, throughout the season.
Dan Robinson, General Manager stated “We continue to build the schedule for the fans and drivers with added events, increased purse money and more diverse attractions. This year we are excited to add the Mad Dog Demolition Derby Night of Destruction on April 6th to kick off the race season one week earlier than normal plus we will host the Hickory County Fair in conjunction with the NBRA North/South Shootout on Lake Lucas, a full weekly racing program and fireworks on June 29th. We have also extended the Weekly Championship Series into the month of September, adding two more races while also increasing the purse this year for the 21st Annual Show-Me 100. We are also working on additional events for 2013 primarily on Lake Lucas.” Additional details will be released at a later date.
14 Lucas Oil Weekly Championship Series events will match 14 Special Events slated for 2013. The season will open on April 6th, with the annual open Test & Tune Session plus the first ever Mad Dog Demolition Derby Night of Destruction. The Lucas Oil MLRA will be in action for their first appearance of 2013 on April 13th. The first Weekly Championship Series event will be held April 20th, with all four classes in action. Lucas Oil Speedway would like to welcome back, ALPS Food Stores, Pitts Homes, Carson’s Corner NAPA and Dwight Brown now with the new, Tri-Lakes RV. The support of these businesses keep weekly racing in action!
The 2nd Annual Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps Open Wheel Showdown kicks off the month of May on May 4th as the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region Winged Sprint Cars and the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series both tackle the Lucas Oil Speedway on one huge night of open wheel racing. The 21st Annual Show-Me 100 Presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com takes place on May 23rd-25th with an additional $10,000 added to the purse for 2013. The added money will be distributed from seventh on back in the feature, paying a minimum of $1500 to start and also increasing the non-qualifiers pay from $100 to $250. In addition to the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Lucas Oil MLRA, the Pitts Homes USRA A-Modifieds are also scheduled to be in action both Friday and Saturday nights in 2013 during Show-Me 100 weekend. Weekly Championship Racing will be held on May 11th and May 18th.
The month of June starts with the 2nd Annual John Haas Memorial Drag Boat Classic on June 7th-9th featuring the wild 250mph Top Fuel Hydros of the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series along with a wild night of Weekly Racing Series action on June 8th. The first appearance of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Winged Sprint Cars hits the Diamond of Dirt Tracks on June 22nd along with the first appearance of 2013 by the WAR Wingless Auto Racing Series Sprint Cars. An action packed month of June will finish with a HUGE weekend on June 28th-29th as the NBRA Hydroplane Boats visit Lake Lucas along with the renewed Hickory County Fair, while the Dirt Track will feature American Patriot night on June 29th with a special $1,000 to win ULMA Late Model Triple Crown Shootout plus the area’s wildest fireworks display!
Highlights for July include the 7th Annual CMH Diamond Nationals on July 13th featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Lucas Oil MLRA plus the E3 Spark Plugs Monster Truck Nationals on July 27th featuring an expanded event with 7 outstanding Monster Trucks, Demolition Derby and Fireworks. Weekly Championship Racing headlines the action on July 6th and July 20th.
Weekly Championship Racing jump starts the month August on August 3rd, with a special $750 to Win Pitts Homes A-Modified show as the drivers tune up for the 4th Annual USMTS Lucas Slick Mist Shootout the following weekend on August 10th. The height of the Weekly Championship Series points battle dominates the 3rd and 4th weeks of August before one of the biggest events of the season wraps up the month. The 3rd Annual Diamond Drag Boat Nationals will bring the bad boys (and girls) of the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series back to Lake Lucas on August 30th-Sept. 1st while the Lucas Oil MLRA and Pitts Homes A-Mods will invade the Diamond of Dirt Tracks on Saturday night, August 31st.
September will roll on with the E3 Spark Plugs Pro Pulling Nationals featuring the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Champions Tour on September 7th, followed by two additional weekly races on September 14th and 21st, including Season Championship night on Saturday, September 21st. The 2013 Season will wrap up on September 27th and 28th with the 3rd Annual ASCS/WAR Jesse Hockett/ Daniel McMillin Memorial.
