Kevin Montgomery, PEORIA, Ariz. (February 7th, 2012) – NASCAR Star Kenny Wallace will be one of several stars to take center stage as he heads west to Arizona for the prestigious Copper on Dirt. The 6th Annual “Copper on Dirt” will feature The West Coast Late Model Shootout, USAC Western Midgets, USAC/CRA Sprint Cars and IMCA Modifieds all taking part in a sensational racing spectacle at Peoria’s Canyon Speedway for two nights on March 1st and 2nd marking Canyon Speedway as the only dirt track venue in the country to host all four premier divisions in one event.
Wallace, who piloted Mark Stewarts IMCA Modified to a second place finish in last years Copper Classic, will join the Copper on Dirt contingent aboard the Papich Construction Super Late Model when the West Coast Shootout Late Model Series makes their first CSP appearance in 2013.
The West Coast Shootout Late Model Series will set the stage for their championship season as the prestigious touring series kicks off the 2013 Championship Season at the Peoria, Arizona facility.
The Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car hopefuls will make their way to CSP to start the year off at one of the premier events of the season. Mike Spencer will lead a large cast of the CRA Sprint Cars into battle as they all look ahead at the next USAC/CRA Champion.
A sensational cast of IMCA Modifieds will also take part in the 6th running of the Copper on Dirt. The IMCA Modifieds will start the 2013 Canyon Speedway Championship season as a host of top drivers from across the country aim for Copper on Dirt glory.
The super fast USAC Western Midgets will fill the card making for a spectacular event as the four premier divisions tackle the 1/3-mile clay oval for two complete nights of racing action on March 1st and 2nd, with more than $100,000 in prize money to be distributed over the course of the blockbuster event.
