Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Announces Sponsors and Special Award Programs For 2013

Lucas Oil Late Model SeriesWAYCROSS, GA (February 11, 2013) – Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are excited to announce the official sponsors, contingency sponsors and bonus programs for the 2013 season. Series sponsors will be offering up contingency awards and special category awards for racers that compete with the series to earn additional money and product awards.

RED BUCK Cigars will again sponsor the Fast Time award giving a $100 cash award at every event to the driver that sets fast time during qualifying. The driver that earns the most RED BUCK Fast time awards throughout the year will receive a $500 cash award at the year-end awards banquet, compliments of RED BUCK Cigars.

JRi Shocks and Dunn-Benson Ford have signed on as the sponsors of the Rookie of the Year program. This years rookie program will pay $10,000 cash plus a set of JRi Shocks valued at $3,500 to the top Rookie of the year. The Rookie runner up will receive $2,500 cash. Other companies posting special awards for the JRi Rookie of the Year presented by Dunn-Benson Ford include: Performance Bodies, Eibach Springs, FAST Shafts, Weld Wheels, AR Bodies, C&R Radiators, HAWK Performance, FK Rod Ends, Fuel Safe Fuel Cells, Keyser Mfg. and Wrisco Aluminum.

COMP Cams will once again be the title sponsor of the “COMP Cams Engine Builders Challenge” offering participating engine builders a chance to win $1,500 cash and a $500 product award to 1st place and a $750 product award to 2nd place in the Engine Builders Challenge. This category will award points to the participating engine builders at each event based on the highest finishing driver with their engine. Other sponsors giving awards to the Engine Builders Challenge program include: Edelbrock, Dyers Top Rods, Roush Yates Parts, CV Products and Mallory Ignition.

Ohlins Shocks will be the title sponsor of the OHLINS Shocks Chassis Builders Challenge for 2013. Participating chassis builders will earn points at every series race and the chassis builder that earns the most points will be crowned the “Ohlins Shocks Chassis Builder of the Year”. The chassis builder that earns the most points throughout the year will receive a $2,000 cash award and a special product award from Ohlins Shocks at the year-end awards banquet.

Allstar Performance will once again sponsor the “Allstar Performer of the Race and year-end award” in 2013. Drivers will earn a $100 product award at each event under this category and earn points towards the “Allstar Performer of the Year”. The driver that earns the most Allstar points will win a $500 cash award and a $500 product award from Allstar Performance at the year-end awards banquet.

ASi Racewear and DirtonDirt.com will be the title sponsors of the “ASi Crown Jewel Cup presented by DirtonDirt.com” points category. This category will consist of a nine (9) race mini-series among the crown jewel events on the series schedule. The driver that earns the most points in those nine (9) races will receive a $10,000 cash award at the series year-end awards banquet, compliments of ASi Racewear and DirtonDirt.com.

SWEET Mfg. and E3 Spark Plugs will sponsor title TV Challenge points category. The driver that earns the most points at the TV races will be awarded a cash award of $10,000 for 1st, $2,500 for 2nd and $1,500 for 3rd based on the final SWEET Mfg. TV Challenge Points Standings presented by E3 Spark Plugs. SWEET Mfg. and E3 Spark plugs will present these special awards at the year-end awards banquet.

Optima Batteries will return as the title sponsor of the “Optima Batteries Hard Charger of the Race and year-end award”. The driver that earns the most Optima Batteries Hard Charger points throughout the year will also be awarded the Optima Battery Hard Charger of the Year award at the series year-end awards banquet and receive a $500 cash award, compliments of Optima Batteries.

Sunoco Race Fuels will once again be the Official Fuel of the series and title sponsor of the “Sunoco Race for Gas” competition along with the Sunoco Road to Wheatland program. Drivers using Sunoco Race Fuels will earn Sunoco points at each event. The driver that earns the most Sunoco points during the season will be awarded a $3,000 cash award at the awards banquet and a $1,000 cash award to the runner-up, compliments of Sunoco. Sunoco is also posting a special $2,000 bonus to a Sunoco driver that wins the Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com in May and maintains perfect attendance.

Outerwears has come on board to recognize and reward the many crew chiefs that work behind the scenes to keep these cars prepared and up front at every series event. The “Outerwears Crew Chief of the Race and the Year” awards will be based on the voting by series officials after each race to award points to the top crew chief of the race. The crew chief that earns the most points receives a $1,500 cash award at the year-end awards banquet. In addition the highest finishing Non Lucas Oil Series driver will receive a product award at each event in 2013.

Wiles Drive Shafts will be the title sponsor of the “Wiles Drive Shafts Heat Race Winners” points category and award the driver that wins the most heat races throughout the year a special cash award of $500 and a product award at the year-end awards banquet.

HAWK Performance has signed on as the sponsor of the HAWK Performance Fastest Lap of the Race Award. The driver that records the fastest lap during the feature event of each event will receive a $75 HAWK Performance Product Award in 2013.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series kicks off the 2013 season this week at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL. The 37th Annual DART Winternationals begins Sunday night with an open practice session. Racing action begins on Monday Feb 11th with the series running a full show, paying $5,000 to win, on both Monday and Tuesday nights. Then on Wednesday and Thursday nights, drivers will compete for $7,000 to win. The final two nights, Friday and Saturday, will pay $10,000 to win respectively. The final two events on Friday and Saturday will be the first two points earning events of the 2013 season.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Tampa Brandon and Courtyard by Marriott Tampa Brandon are the Official “Host Hotels” of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the 37th Annual DART Winternationals.
