(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer and his famed #21 BMR team traveled to the states of Kentucky and Missouri on April 12-13 for the first two events on the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) inaugural schedule. On Friday night at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky, Billy laid down the fifth fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session and later placed second in his heat race. After starting the $20,000 to win main event from the outside of the fourth row, Billy picked off four competitors during the rough and tumble 75-lapper on his way to a fourth place effort behind only winner Josh Richards, Jimmy Owens, and Jimmy Mars.
The dirt-slinging action quickly shifted to the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri on Saturday evening for another $20,000 to win NDRL showdown. Billy won his heat race in preliminary action and later drew the outside of the front row for the start of the 75-lap feature event. “Mr. Smooth” then led the opening 22 circuits before eventually notching another fourth place performance behind only victor Jimmy Owens, Brian Birkhofer, and Jimmy Mars. Next up for the BMR team will be a doubleheader in their home state of Arkansas on April 19-20. The nearby Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas will play host to a $2,000 to win COMP Cams Super Dirt Series battle on Friday night, while the I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas will do the same on Saturday evening. Both facilities will be hosting national touring series events during the month of May, so Billy will be looking to take some good notes from this weekend’s programs.
