Wheatland, Missouri – April 21st, 2013 -Saturday Night, FindItHere.com presented the Lucas Oil Weekly Championship Series Season Opener. A great crowd of fans braved the cool temps to join in on a fantastic night of family fun, which included FREE Diecast Race Cars from Ron’s Racing Collectibles for the first 500 kids! Victory Lane was visited by Jason Russell, Jon Sheets, Kenny Carroll and Kris Jackson. All four drivers were pleased to open the season with a win. This was the debut for the ULMA at any track in the region, as their first couple scheduled events were cancelled due to weather. A strong field of ULMA cars were on hand for the official opening of the season.

In the Pitts Homes USRA Modified, Ozark Coca-Cola Feature, Jon Sheets from Neveda, MO was able to pull of an early season win. Sheets was strong all night, starting with a win in his heat. Sheets was followed by Jason Russell (whom is also piloting a ULMA Late Model again for 2013 at Lucas Oil Speedway) and Rylan Long. The top three are outstanding competitors and put on a great show for the fans. Stephen Muilenburg and Nathan Vaughan rounded out the top five. Look for an exciting Week #2 in the A-Mod class on Saturday Night for KDKD and the Eagle Night at the Races.

Next out on the Diamond of Dirt Tracks was the Carson’s Corner NAPA Factory Stocks. Kenny Carroll sported the FindItHere.com logo on his car, supporting the race night sponsor. After a rough go in his heat race, Carroll was able to overcome a poor starting position in the Bill Roberts Chevrolet Buick Feature for a Win! 2012 Track Champion, Marc Carter cruised in for a second place finish with Brian Schutt in third. Johnny Coats finished the feature fourth with female driver Karla Lampe in the fifth spot. Lampe looked impressive in her heat race and pulled off a solid top five finish.

The third feature of the night started with a wild accident on the front stretch. As the ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models exited turn four, a chain reaction sent many cars spinning. A red flag stopped the feature for a bit to pull cars apart and sort out the mess. Once the field fired back up, the 20 Lap G2 Gemini Feature win was captured by Jason Russell. Russell finished second in the USRA Modified Feature and took top honors in the ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models. Russell picked up valuable Lucas Oil Weekly Championship Racing Points as well as overall ULMA points. Joe Walkenhorst of Pleasant Hill, MO finished the night in second with Larry Jones just behind in the third spot. Tommy Cordray was fourth, with Justin Russell in fifth.

The final feature of the night might have been one of the most intense of the night. Colt Cheevers lead nearly all 20 laps before Kris Jackson was able to power by him just before the White Flag came out. Jackson picked up the win after being pushed up the track by another car and kissing the wall. In Victory Lane Jackson commented, “I have never hit the wall then went on to win.” Cheevers was followed by Stephen Muilenburg and Ryan Edde. Shawn Strong was also wearing a FindItHere.com decal in support of the night’s sponsor and finished in the fifth spot.
