By Mark Billings: Double Header usually means double trouble. Not this time!! Double header means double the racing and double the money for Mid-America Lightning Sprint car drivers. To be precise it means $1150. That is the potential payout for this DOUBLE-HEADER lightning sprint weekend. Mid-West Lightning Sprints and Mid-America Lightning Sprints Presented by Jayhawk Millwright will be hosting back to back races this weekend. Mid-West Lightning Sprints will be racing on May 3rd at Grain Valley Speedway in Grain Valley MO.

Mid-America Lightning Sprints will be racing the next night May 4th at Atchison County Raceway in Atchison Kansas.

Both groups are very excited about combining efforts to promote lightning sprints for one of the biggest weekends ever in the Kansas City area. Mid-West Lightning Sprints races on Friday night May 3rd and it will pay $500 to win sponsored by Jayhawk Millwright, PROVIDED you make the next nights Mid-America Lightning Sprints Spring Fling race, May 4th at ACR, which is like all MALS races is guaranteed $650 to win. So if you win both events you pocket $1150.

Midwest Lightning Sprints has dropped their temporary membership fee for the MLS/MALS double header weekends.

Mid-West Lightning Sprints will be supporting the Poweri National Midget tour at Grain Valley Speedway for this event. Top midget drivers from across the country will be in attendance for this fast and exciting show. Mid-America Lightning Sprints Presented by Jayhawk Millwright will be the head liner at ACR. Lightning sprint drivers from Middle America have been waiting for an opportunity to show what they can do at this very fast and exciting track since it opened up last year. ACR will be one of the most competitive tracks that lightning sprints run on this year. With its 80 foot wide high banked corners there is plenty of room to race.
But make no mistake this will be elbows up, hold on and pull your belts down tight track! It should be very exciting for racers and fans alike.

Mid-America Lightning Sprints Presented by Jayhawk is expecting drivers from as far away as Colorado, Wisconsin / Northern Illinois to make the tow to race this weekend. As with all Mid-America Lightning Sprints Presented by Jayhawk Millwright races we offer any driver that is more than 500 miles tow one way from any of our races $100 in tow money, provided you make the feature. We have now expanded this incentive to include people who live at least 250 miles tow one way from any of our races. This incentive will pay $50. Both are limited to the first five drivers each. You must preregister with me at mbillingsracing@gmail.com to insure your spot.

This is one of three double header weekends for Mid-America Lightning Sprints Presented by Jayhawk Millwright and Mid-West Lightning Sprints. The other two double headers weekend events are on May 25th where MLS is at I-35 in Winston MO and MALS is at Double-X speedway in California MO. The third and final $1150 double header weekend will be June 28th where MLS is back at Grain Valley Speedway and MALS is at Nevada Speedway in Nevada MO.

Just a reminder the pill draw closes at the tracks drivers meeting. Fail to draw a pill by this point will result in a starting position of tail back in your heat race.
