With two events in the record books for the L A Raceway at LaMonte, the 2013 racing season is proving to be exciting and competitive but this last Saturday’s event was cancelled because of a late season snow and persistent rain.
Friday, May 17, will see the L A Raceway host the United States Modified Touring Series which is the premier modified series in the Nation. The USMTS brings drivers like Jeremy Payne, Jason Hughes, Zach Vanderbeek and Kelly Shryock to take on local drivers like Matt Dotson of Clark and Terry Schultz of Sedalia who were first and second on opening night at LaMonte in the USRA A Modified sanctioned event. Also on the program will be the Ironman Challenge featuring B Modifieds and Street Stocks. Brad Smith of Belton dominated the B Modifieds on their last appearance at LaMonte and Higginsville driver Brian Eckhoff who took the Street Stock win in their last event at the raceway are both expected to return.
