Wheatland, Missouri – May 7th, 2013 – The 1st Annual Budweiser Formula 1 North American Championships kick off this Friday, May 10th on Lake Lucas. The 2-Day event will conclude on Saturday afternoon, May 11th, just in time for the Coyote 107.9 Night and the 4th Annual Business Expo at Lucas Oil Speedway. After testing the boats on the lake last fall, this event was added to the dynamic Lake Lucas schedule. The unique design of the Formula 1 boat bottom gives it the ability to perform 180 degree turns in the narrow 400′ lake width pulling up to 6 g’s in the process, while accelerating from 0-100 mph in under 3.5 seconds. The boat tops out reaching a maximum speed of 140 mph with its’ 400 horse power engines. All of this excitement multiplied by 15 competitors on the course at the same time creating deck to deck action directly positioned in front of the crowd.
Saturday May 11th will be non-stop action starting off with a test session for F1 followed by opening ceremonies, heat races, autograph session, wake board exhibition, concluding with 30 lap finals in each class. Gates open at 10 AM on both Friday and Saturday. A ticket for Saturday May 11th, also grants fans admission to Coyote 107.9 Night plus the 4th Annual Business Expo at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks on Saturday Night. Fans who cannot make it out to see the thrilling Formula 1 boats on Lake Lucas may enter after 4 PM for only $5. The ticket grants fans access to the 4th Annual Business Expo and Lucas Oil Weekly Championship Series racing action. Saturday night a special $500 to Win Factory Stocks is presented by the Triangle Quick Shop.
The 4th Annual Business Expo will feature more than 30 local businesses with products on display and for sale. Don’t forget it is Mother’s Day weekend! Many of the vendors will have special gifts and give-a-ways just for Mom! Great Southern Bank will be passing out FREE Can Coolies to the first 500 guests through the gate after 4 PM on Saturday Night for the Business Expo.
The Frog’s Sign Jr. Fan Club Box Car Race scheduled for Saturday, May 11th has been pushed back a couple of weeks due to the recent rain-outs. JFC Kids can stop by the Frog’s Sign JFC booth on Saturday Night to pick up rules and register for the Box Car Race which will now be held on Saturday Night June 8th.
