(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) With Mother Nature wiping out the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events over the weekend, Billy Moyer and his famed #21 team wound up heading to the states of Texas and Louisiana with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series. On Friday night, May 3, the brand new Timberline Speedway in Corley, Texas played host to a $2,000 to win showdown. With passing at a premium, Billy drew the eighth starting spot for his heat race and finished seventh in his prelim. The Batesville, Arkansas ace then advanced up to third in his B-Main, but that narrowly kept him out of the 35-lap feature event.
At the Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, Louisiana on Saturday evening, May 4, another $2,000 top prize was on the line in the finale of the CCSDS doubleheader. Billy moved up four spots in his heat race to finish third, which locked him into the inside of the seventh row for the start of the A-Main. The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” then charged past seven competitors during the 35-lapper to cross underneath the checkers in the sixth position. The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team will jump right back into action this upcoming weekend (May 10-11) in a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series tilts in the states of Arkansas and Mississippi. Weather pending, Billy will take on the WOOLMS gang in a pair of $10,000 to win clashes on Friday at the I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas and on Saturday at the Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi.
