Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team made the trek to the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on May 10-11 for the two-day ‘Spring Shootout.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the doubleheader weekend and a pair of $10,000 top prizes were on the line. Following a rain-out on Friday night at the 1/4-mile bullring, Saturday’s portion of the weekend went off without a hitch.

Dennis posted the fifteenth quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and later moved up to sixth in his stacked heat race. After grabbing the third and final transfer spot through his B-Main, Dennis started the 50-lap ‘Spring Shootout’ from the outside of the eleventh row. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace was then able to pick off nine competitors during the A-Main to salvage a thirteenth place performance. Dennis now finds himself sixth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following LaSalle. Full results can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for the Dennis Erb Racing team will be another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series stop, this time at the Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas. The 2nd Annual ‘Bad Boy 98’ will take place at Mooney and Connie Starr’s facility on May 17-18. Qualifying and heat races are slated for Friday night, while a pair of B-Mains and the 98-lap feature event are scheduled for Saturday evening. The winner of the ‘Bad Boy 98’ will take home a hefty $20,000 winner’s check. Dennis finished fourteenth in last year’s inaugural version of the race, which is sponsored by Bad Boy Mowers.
