DIRTcar Summer Nationals(BRIGHT, INDIANA) Scott James and the Warrior House Car team rolled into the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 6-8 for the 19th Annual ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ The new expanded race format kicked off on Thursday and Friday with Twin 25s at the “Big E.” On Thursday night, Scott climbed to fourth in his heat race and later moved up three spots in the $2,500 to win main event en route to a solid tenth place performance. At the hallowed high-banks on Friday evening, Scott ran second in heat race action prior to starting and finishing sixth in the $5,000 to win A-Main.

Things heated up in a real big way on Saturday, as a whopping $100,000 top prize was on the line in the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ Scott was leading his heat race until his nose folded under the right front tire due to rough track conditions. He salvaged a ninth place finish in his heat race prior to grabbing the fifth transfer spot out of the C-Main. However, Scott’s night would unfortunately end in the B-Main after he wound up eighteenth in the final finishing order. Full results from the long weekend at Eldora Speedway can be viewed by clicking on www.eldoraspeedway.com.

“I have to thank so many people that chipped in on the car over the weekend at Eldora,” exclaimed James this week. “First off, Sanford (Goddard) and everyone at Warrior worked hard to get the new car ready and it was pretty good right out of the box. We ran in the top ten on Thursday and Friday and was then leading the heat on Saturday when the nose folded under. The crew did a great job getting me back out on the track for the rest of the night, but we just couldn’t make up that much ground and get into the show. I just have to thank Ron Powell, Sanford Goddard, Custom Race Engines, Hoffmann Trucking, Prince Excavating, and everyone for their support not only at Eldora, but throughout the course of the season.”

The #1G team has two races on their radar this week, as Scott James plans to sling dirt at both the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana and the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals will kick off tonight, June 12 at Brownstown with the $5,000 to win ‘Hoosier Dirt Classic.’ Following the show tonight at Brownstown, Scott will travel to Florence on Saturday, June 15 for a $2,000 to win unsanctioned program.
