Bryan Barber Victorious in Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series at Moler Raceway Park

Williamsburg, OH-June 21, 2013- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series kicked back into gear on Friday evening at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH and polesitter Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY would lead all 30 laps in scoring his second series victory of the 2013 season and picked up $1,500 in the process in his B&B Motorsports/All Star Performance/Bilstein Shocks/Maximum Energy Development/Hypercoils/Frankland Racing Equipment sponsored #10 Bandit Race Car, Jay Dickens Race Engines powered mount.

Polesitter Bryan Barber would take the lead at the drop of the green flag and survive a pair of restarts in the first portion of the contest, would earn the Reaper Race Cars $100 Halfway Bonus for leading lap 15, and worked lapped traffic masterfully throughout the later stages of the event to pick up his second series tour victory of 2013.  Eighth starting Devin Gilpin of Columbus, IN would finish second, while defending series champion and outside polesitter Trent Young of Hopkinsville, KY would score a third place finish.  Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN would finish fourth after starting third, and 12th starting Zach Fair of Petersburg, IN would complete the top five.

The remainder of the top ten finishers would be Todd Robinson (started 17th), Matt Westfall (started 5th), Kyle Strickler (started 4th), Larry Pickleheimer (started 23rd and earned the Hard Charger award), and Weasel Rhodes (started 20th).  The 30 lap, $1.500 to win event would be slowed by two caution periods and took 15 minutes to complete.

In preliminary action, Bryan Barber would be the Quick Car Racing Product top qualifier among a competitive field of 34 entries at 13.975 seconds.  Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Bryan Barber, while Joey Kramer scored the win in Williams Precision Engine heat two.  Hypercoils heat three went to Trent Young, with Kyle Strickler winning Frankland Racing Equipment heat four.  The Wehrs Machine B-Mains were captured by Todd Robinson and Brandon Green.  Series provisional starting spots went to Rocky Wilson and Shawn Simpson, while track provisional starting positions were taken by Larry Pickleheimer and Jeremy Bretz.

American Modified SeriesThe next event for the open-wheel warriors of the American Modified Series will be on Saturday June 22 at Florence Speedway in Union, KY, paying $1,500 to win and $200 to start.  Also, NASCAR Playing Cards is offering a weekend bonus program for the top three series member drivers that accumulate the most points for the weekend between Moler Raceway Park and Florence Speedway (1st- $500, 2nd- $300, 3rd- $200).
