Wheatland, Missouri – June 25th, 2013 – Lucas Oil Speedway is the place to be this holiday weekend! Saturday, June 29th the NBRA (National Boat Racing Association) North/South Shoot Out on Lake Lucas will welcome boats and pilots from across the country for the second annual event. Two full days of boat action will conclude with the feature events held on Sunday, June 30th. The purpose of the National Boat Racing Association is to, actively promote the sport of stock and modified outboard hydroplane and runabout racing by encouraging and advancing safety, increase the awareness of the sport and expanding its competition. The boats are much different than the drag boats as these are small boats where the pilot kneels while driving in an elongated circle. This type of boat racing is similar to the setup of dirt racing. They will run multiple “heat” races with several boats on the water at once and then run a final feature to end the show.
The Shoot Out is just the beginning on Saturday, with KIX 105.7 back again for the annual American Patriot Night. KIX 105.7 will broadcast LIVE from the Hickory County Fair Saturday afternoon. Following the Lucas Oil Weekly Championship Series on the Diamond of Dirt Tracks, fans will be treated to a spectacular display of live fireworks in celebration of our Nation’s Independence. All Veteran’s with ID and Scout’s in uniform will be admitted FREE in our “Salute to America.” The ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models will be gunning for $1000 to Win, in a special 25 lap feature presented by Rain’s Ice Company.The Pitts Homes A-Modifieds, the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks, and the Tri-Lakes RV B-Mods will also take the green flag for a fun filled night of family friendly racing action.
The fun doesn’t stop there! As previously announced, the Hickory County Fair will begin on Thursday Night, June 27th and run through Saturday evening.
