DIRTcar Summer Nationals(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer racked up his 82nd career UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals victory on Friday night, June 28 at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky! Billy posted the fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session and later took the win in his stacked heat race. After drawing the third starting spot prior to the 40-lap ‘Chris Smith Memorial,’ Billy grabbed the point from leader Tyler Reddick on lap 19 and never looked back. The Batesville, Arkansas star picked up the $10,000 payday ahead of Ryan Unzicker, Shannon Babb, Kent Robinson, and Bobby Pierce!

In other “Hell Tour” action last weekend, the #21 team pulled into the pit area on Thursday evening, June 27 at the Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tennessee. Billy timed in sixth quickest in his group during qualifying and later grabbed the fifth and final transfer spot through his heat race. The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” tried some things during the $5,000 to win A-Main and wound up seventeenth in the final rundown. Saturday’s UMP Summer Nationals showdown scheduled for the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri was then washed out by Mother Nature. “We have been down a little bit this year, but we are definitely not giving up,” stated Moyer following his win at PIR. “My crew has been working their tail off and we are steadily gaining on things. Sometimes you have got to go backwards a little bit before you go forward, so hopefully we are trending in the right direction now. I am looking forward to getting this new car built and finishing the year on a strong note!”

The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team has opted to take the upcoming July 5-6 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition. The team is currently building a new Victory Circle by Moyer car that they hope to debut very soon. Depending on how the new car comes along, Billy is still up in the air about when he will race next.
