Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) During the course of a very rainy last week, Dennis Erb, Jr. was able to grab a couple of top ten finishes in high-profile events in the states of Ohio and Indiana. On Wednesday night, July 3, the Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio played host to the cars and stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the annual running of the ‘Budweiser 50.’ Dennis, who was making his first career visit to MCS, timed in eighth quickest in Group A during qualifying, but later suffered a flat tire in his heat race. Following a seventh place effort in the B-Main, Dennis utilized a series provisional to gain access into the $10,000 to win feature event. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace was then able to climb thirteen spots during the 50-lapper on his way to a tenth place performance.

Following a rain-out of the $10,000 to win ‘Independence 50′ at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on both Thursday and Friday, Dennis wrapped up his rain-soaked week on Sunday, July 7 at the Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana. The UMP Summer Nationals tour roared into the pristine 1/4-mile facility to preside over a $5,000 to win battle. Dennis posted the sixth fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session prior to claiming the fourth transfer spot through his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the sixth row in the 40-lap main event, Dennis was able to move past six competitors en route to a steady sixth place finish. The Dennis Erb Racing team will now turn their sights to a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilts in the states of Illinois and Missouri over the July 12-13 weekend. First up will be a trip to the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois on Friday night, as a $10,000 top prize will be on the line. A similar program will then be held on Saturday evening at the immaculate Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The annual running of the ‘Diamond Nationals’ is on tap at the state-of-the-art 3/8-mile complex and Dennis will be vying for another $10,000 winner’s check. He comes into the doubleheader weekend sixth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings. Additional information concerning these races can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
