(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Brasstown, North Carolina hotshoe Ray Cook and his #53 team celebrated in victory lane for the sixth time in 2013 on Saturday evening, July 13 at the historic Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee! Ray posted the fastest lap in Group B and overall during the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) qualifying session, which locked him into the outside of the front row for the start of the ‘Stars & Stripes 40.’ Ray then led each and every circuit of the 40-lapper to score the $4,000 triumph over Jason Hiett, Clint Smith, Jake Knowles, and Derek Ellis! Complete results from Cleveland can be located online at www.sasdirt.com.

“Our car has been working really well as of late and I can’t thank everyone enough for their support,” exclaimed Cook earlier this week. “I couldn’t do this without all of my sponsors, product supporters, and of course my crew, so I am just thankful that I am associated with a great bunch of people. Even though I led the whole race at Cleveland the other night, I was actually lucky to even finish that thing. We broke a right front lower control arm and I was really expecting to stick it in the fence every lap after it broke. Fortunately, we were able to hold on, keep it together, and get the win!”

The Ray Cook Racing team will keep their MasterSbilt racecars in the shop for a couple of weeks, as Ray is currently promoting the annual Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series. The 9th annual mini-series got underway on Monday at the picturesque Wythe (VA) Raceway and will conclude on Saturday, July 27 at the bad-fast Tazewell (TN) Speedway. You can view the complete schedule for the barnstorming southern tour by pointing your web browser to www.southernnationalsseries.com.

Ray Cook would like to thank all of his supporters including: MasterSbilt Race Cars, Race Engine Design, Jay D1ckens Racing Engines, PPM Racing Products, A+ Moving and Storage Company, K&N Filters, PRC Racing, Real Racing Wheels, Keyser Manufacturing Co., Bill Elliott Racing, James Cook Construction, American Race Tire, Bert Transmissions, Brodix Cylinder Heads, Chizmark & Larson Insurance Agency, DBR Starters, Delph Communications, Demon Carburetors, Eibach Springs, FK Rod Ends, Frankland Racing Supply, GW Performance, Integra Shocks, ISC Racers Tape, JB Performance, Mason Racin’, MSD Ignition, Peterson Fluid Systems, Rhino Wraps, Schaeffer’s Racing Oil, Scott Performance Wire, Stealth Carburetors, Sweet Mfg., T&D Machine, TurboStart Batteries, VP Racing Fuels, Wiles Driveshafts, and Wilwood.
