Park City, Kansas – August 5, 2013 – This coming Friday and Saturday night one of the biggest late model events on the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products late model division will take place as the 10th annual “King of the Hill Late Model Shootout” is set to take place at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool, Nebraska. Their familiar partners of the Lucas Oil Midwest Latemodel Racing Association will once again be part of the action. To add to the intrigue of this annual event and for the first time ever the MARS DIRTcar series will also be in action. It will be the first time in two years all three series will have joined forces making this one late model weekend you will not want to miss.
Friday night’s feature winner will take home $2000 while championship Saturday night will pay $3000 and crowned “King of the Hill Late Model Shootout” champion.

Former NCRA late model champion Kelly Boen of Henderson, Colorado is a five-time “Late Model Shootout” champion and the now-retired driver also reached victory lane three times on the first night of the weekend double header.
Last year it was MLRA late model champion John Anderson picking up his first ever event victory while having won two Friday night shows in previous years.
Former MARS late model champion Terry Phillips picked up the victory back in 2008 while former NCRA and MLRA champion Al Purkey won the event the first two years it was ran, both single night events.
G&G Dozer rookie of the year leader and contender Jacob Magee of Caney, Kansas currently sits atop the NCRA point standings and holds a 220 point advantage over Jimmy Segraves, who is having his best year in the late model division to date. Long-time series supporter Gary Gorby will also be on hand as will tour regulars Jeremy Petty (G&G Dozer RoY contender), Chase Junghans, Corey Zeitner and Wylan Petrie.
Tony Jackson, Jr., arguably the hottest late model driver in the Midwest area, is having a banner year in all three series. Jackson leads the MARS DIRTcar series point standings and has four feature victories on the tour. He also has two feature victories with MLRA and two with the NCRA.
Drivers expected to compete during the two day weekend representing the three series include: Jesse Stovall, Terry Phillips, John Anderson, Justin Asplin, Dustin Walker, Leroy Johnson, Justin Wells, Brad Looney, Mark Dotson, Will Vaught, Travis Dickes, Chad Simpson, Jason Bodenhamer and Tommy Weder, Jr.
A whole list of talented Nebraska based late model drivers are also expected, led by Kyle Berck, Bill Leighton, Tad Pospisil, Andrew Kosiski, Scott Koskovich, Steve Kempt, Chris Avery, Justin Gregg, Junior Coover and Dan Battaglia.
