Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing jumped back on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule on August 9-10 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The 31st edition of the ‘North/South 100’ took place at the 1/2-mile, northern Kentucky speedplant and a whopping $50,000 top prize was on the line. On Friday night, Dennis Erb, Jr. started his weekend by posting the twenty-second quickest lap in Group A during the qualifying session.

When the action really heated up on Saturday evening, Dennis advanced up to fifth in his stacked heat race, but also finished fifth in his B-Main. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace was then awarded a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series provisional to gain access into the ‘North/South 100’ and started the 100-lapper from the outside of the twelfth row. Dennis, who currently sits sixth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings, charged past thirteen competitors during the crown jewel event to notch a respectable eleventh place performance. The 21st Annual ‘Topless 100’ will kick off on Friday evening with qualifications and heat races. On Saturday night, the crown jewel extravaganza will conclude with B-Mains, a $1,000 to win Non Qualifiers Race, and the ‘Topless 100’ main event. The 100-lap headliner for the topless Super Late Models boasts a $40,000 winner’s check and will pay $2,000 just to start the race.
