Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team bolted to the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana from August 22-24 for a trio of high-profile events. On Thursday night at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the annual running of the ‘Scorcher 50,’ which paid $10,000 to the winner. Dennis Erb, Jr. timed in eighth fastest in Group A during the qualifying session and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his loaded heat race. After starting the 50-lap feature event from the inside of the eighth row, Dennis was able to pick off five competitors en route to a strong tenth place outing.

Friday evening took the #28 team to the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky for the first time for the 6th Annual ‘Friday Night Rumble.’ Dennis posted the thirteenth quickest lap during time trials and later finished third in heat race action. The Carpentersville, Illinois native then had a solid run during the unsanctioned $7,500 to win main event, as he crossed underneath the checkers in the ninth position.

The huge tripleheader weekend wrapped up on Saturday with a trip to the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana for the annual ‘Whiskey City 50,’ which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Dennis laid down the nineteenth fastest lap overall during qualifying prior to finishing fifth in his stacked heat race. Dennis, who currently sits sixth in the latest version of the national series point standings, then hung around the top ten throughout the $10,000 to win A-Main before being paid for twelfth at the pay window following fifty green flag circuits.
