(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert and Paul Crowl’s #7 team invaded the Natural Bridge Speedway in Natural Bridge, Virginia on October 4-5 for the annual running of the ‘Sunoco Fall Classic.’ The unsanctioned, two-day show drew a stout field of competitors, all of which were vying for the $10,000 top prize. On Friday night, Rick clicked off the fifth quickest lap during qualifying and later finished second in his heat race. After taking the win in the dash, Rick then led briefly during the early portion of Saturday’s ‘Sunoco Fall Classic’ before eventually grabbing a solid fourth place finish behind only winner Mark Pettyjohn, Kenny Pettyjohn, and Steve Shaver. Next up for “Scrub” will be the 25th edition of the ‘Pittsburgher 100,’which will be a two-day program this upcoming weekend sanctioned by the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pennsylvania. Up first will be a $10,000 to win, 50-lap race on Friday, October 11, while the ‘Pittsburgher 100’ will wrap things up in a big way on Saturday, October 12 with a $25,000 winner’s check. Rick will be back behind the wheel of his familiar #24 Team Zero entry this weekend at Pittsburgh. His best career finish in the ‘Pittsburgher 100’ came back in 2002 when he finished a strong runner-up behind only victor Rick Aukland.
