Rustin Miller wins K&N Filters USCS MOD Cotton Boll Cup $2,000 Final at Poplar Bluff

USCSPoplar Bluff, MO – October 12, 2013 – Rustin Miller from Houston, Missouri bested a record 49 car field of K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modifieds to take home the $2000 top prize in the 13th annual Cotton Boll Cup at Poplar Bluff Speedway on Saturday night. It was Miller’s first K&N Filters USCS Modified feature win and his first entry into USCS series competition. Before visiting victory lane Miller celebrated to the fans delight with a wall kissing burnout on the front stretch.

The Missourian started from the K&N Filters Pole Position after winning the Wilwood disc Brakes First Heat race on Friday night. Miller led every lap of the 30-lap main event and raced to the www.rockauto.com USCS victory lane just in front of Scott Crigler from Monticello, Arkansas for the win. 2009 USCS Modified weekly racing series Champion and West Tennessee open wheel modified hot shoe, Matt cooper from McKenzie, Tennessee finished in the K&N Filters Podium Award third position. Cooper was followed across the finish line by Jon Gray from Jonesboro, Arkansas in fourth place and Rusty Griffaw from Festus, Missouri rounded out the top five drivers.

2011 Cotton Boll Cup Champion, Shane Akin from Medina, Tennessee led the next group pf racers in sixth place. Lucas Lee from Paris, Tennessee followed in seventh. Terry Kirk from Urbana, Missouri finished in eighth place. Jim Black from Montree, Missouri in ninth place and Mike Savage from Pilot Knob, Missouri completed the top ten drivers.

On Saturday night the final A-Main field was set via three B-Main/Last Chance races. Jonesboro Arkansas modified hot shore and 2009 K&N Filters USCS Modified Champion, Hunter Rasdon started twelfth (last) and won the Wilwood Disc Brakes B-Main #1. Robbie Arnold from Paragould, Arkansas then won the Xtreme Race Graphics B-Main #2 and former Malden Speedway track Champion, Paul Reeder won the www.rockauto.com B-Main #3. Jacob Davis from Millersville, Missouri started the A-Main and raced forward 122 positions to garner the Comp Cams Hard Charger Award. The Rock Hard powder Coatings top Five Award was earned by fifth place finisher Rusty Griffaw and the DMI/Bulldog Rear Ends Top Ten Award was collected by tenth place finisher Mike Savage.

The next and final 2013 K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series events will be during the 5th annual USCS Fall Nationals at historic Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas on Friday and Saturday, November 1st and 2nd . The K&N USCS Mods will contest as in the past two separate race nights of competition with each main event paying $1000 to win and $100 to last place in the main event. The entry fee is $50 per night. A pre-entry fee of $80 for both nights is available prior to the event if received by Saturday, October 26th at Midnight.
