NDRL - National Dirt Racing League(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer, of Batesville, Arkansas, was coroneted the “King of Dirt” over the October 11-12 weekend, as he clinched the 2013 National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) Championship! The inaugural version of the NDRL tour wrapped up with a pair of big events at the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pennsylvania. On Friday night, Billy won his heat race in preliminary action and later started the $10,000 to win feature event from the outside of the second row. After running second through much of the 50-lapper, Billy eventually crossed underneath the checkers fourth behind only winner Jason Feger, Josh Richards, and Dale McDowell.

At PPMS on Saturday evening, the 25th edition of the ‘Pittsburgher 100’ closed out the NDRL season and a hefty $25,000 top prize was on the line. Billy once again scored the win in his heat race prior to rolling off from the outside of the front row in the 100-lap extra-distance affair. After leading the first eleven circuits in the ‘Pittsburgher 100,’ the popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” netted a strong runner-up performance behind only victor Scott Bloomquist. With the pair of top fives at PPMS, Billy bested Josh Richards, Jimmy Mars, Shane Clanton, and Brian Birkhofer in the final version of the NDRL points to claim the $20,000 title! Full results from the ‘Pittsburgher 100’ weekend can be located online at www.thendrl.com.

“We had a good weekend at Pittsburgh and man that track was a lot of fun to race on,” exclaimed the Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer this week. “With the caliber of cars on hand, it was good to run up front all weekend and come out on top of that NDRL points deal. I have to thank Mr. Kennedy for everything he has done with the upstart series and I feel honored to be the first Champion. A few years ago I said I was done points racing, but the kind of money that Kennedy was putting on the line, it was just too hard to pass up. I also have to thank my crew and all of my sponsors. The year started a little up-and-down, but we have kept digging and hopefully we can have another strong run this weekend at Portsmouth!”

The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team has now turned their focus to the 33rd Annual ‘Dirt Track World Championship,’ which will be held this weekend (October 18-19) at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. The season finale for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will start with qualifying and heat races on Friday night, while the huge weekend will conclude on Saturday evening with consolation events, $3,000 to win ‘Jim Dunn Memorial’ Non-Qualifiers Race, and 100-lap ‘Dirt Track World Championship.’ A whopping $50,000 payday will go to the winner of the DTWC, while each main event starter will receive at least $2,000.

Cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios will once again be on hand at PRP throughout the weekend to tape the dirt-slinging action for broadcast on Fox Sports 1 and MavTV. Billy is a two-time victor of the ‘Dirt Track World Championship,’ as he took the win back in both 1986 and 1996 at the legendary Pennsboro Speedway in Pennsboro, West Virginia.
