stnLonnie Wheatley, LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 18, 2013) – With the entry count climbing ever closer to the century mark, the qualifying night assignments for next week’s 26th Annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires at Little Rock’s I-30 Speedway have been released.

With another ten entries filed on Friday, the entry count has climbed to 86 for the $15,000-to-win, $2,500-to-start event that takes place next Thursday through Saturday after Wednesday night’s Inaugural $2,500-win Short Track Nationals Open.

After Wednesday night’s STN Open, in which the top finisher among the top four that doesn’t race into the STN finale receives a provisional, approximately half the STN field will battle it out through a full card of heats, qualifiers, “B” Mains and “A” Main before the second half takes to the track for an identical card on Friday to set Saturday night’s championship feature event lineups.

Among those pushing the current entry total to 86 are past All Star champion Greg Wilson, six-time STN feature starter Marshall Skinner, fourth-ranked ASCS National contender Brad Loyet and New Yorker Jason Barney, who makes his first trek to Little Rock after finishing third in Empire Super Sprints points.

More entries are expected in the days before the green flag flies upon the 26th rendition of the Short Track Nationals with the current crop of entries divvied up over the two nights.

Sammy Swindell headlines a stellar list of Thursday night qualifiers that includes the likes of past STN winners Jason Sides, Jason Johnson and Wayne Johnson along with top contenders Tim Shaffer, Brian Brown, Jeff Swindell, Randy Hannagan and STN newcomer Terry McCarl among others.

Friday’s action includes perennial event contender Shane Stewart, past winners Tim Crawley, Tony Bruce, Jr., and Terry Gray and other top shoes gunning for a first STN score including Danny Lasoski, Kevin Swindell, Roger Crockett, Kyle Hirst, Chad Kemenah and David Gravel among others.

The pre-entry discount of $150 expired with entries filed or postmarked by October 17, with post-entries for the 26th Annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires filed for $250 by calling the track at 501-455-4567 or at http://www.i-30speedway.com/flyers/stn_flyer2013.pdf.

Fans can purchase advance tickets by calling 501-455-4567. Advance tickets are just $51 for all three nights of STN action of $61 for all four nights that also includes Wednesday night’s Inaugural Short Track Nationals Open. And, those unable to make the trip to Little Rock can still catch every lap of action as it happens live on Pay-Per-View. PPV details and pricing are available at www.shorttracknationals.com.

The top three from each night will be locked into Saturday night’s $15,000-to-win, $2,500-to-start STN Championship Finale. Those six drivers will battle it out in Saturday’s Dash for Cash to determine the alignment of the front three rows of the championship main event.

Beyond that, drivers will be lined up on Saturday night in twin “B” Mains, twin “C” Mains, twin “D” Mains, twin “E” Mains and “F” Mains if necessary.
