Quincy Raceways has scheduled 26 nights of racing for the 2014 season.  The schedule remains in the ‘tentative’ stage as a few special events are still waiting to be booked which will require some minor modifications.  In addition, the track would like to give each of the weekly classes one or two nights off during the season so that teams can schedule vacations or make other plans.  Those nights are not reflected on the tentative schedule for some classes and will be determined based on feedback and further scheduling of special events.  The track is inviting feedback regarding any major conflicts with the tentative schedule for a two week period through December 21.  The track hopes to release a final schedule prior to the end of the year so that fans and teams can make arrangements for time off work where necessary.  Anyone wishing to have their input regarding the schedule considered are encourage to contact Ken Dobson at 217-371-3653 or kdobson99@gmail.com.

Not counting the Dirtcar Summer Nationals, each of the weekly classes are scheduled to have four special events during the course of the season.  These ’4 For 40′ specials are intended to let each class have the spotlight on their special nights with each class running last on its 4 for 40 night.  The track is currently working on other ways to make the 4 for 40 nights extra special for the featured class each night.

Each class will also have at least one 40 lap event during the course of the 40th Anniversary season with the Late Model 40 lapper occurring during the ‘Scottie 40′ honoring the late Albert Scott on April 20.  The payout and details on the special events for each class are still being determined although the Late Model specials will pay $2,000 to win.

Also for the Late Model class, the track is significantly raising the weekly payout to $1,200 to win and $150 to start to bring it in line with typical Dirtcar Super Late Model payouts throughout the area.  The full Late Model weekly payout  is posted below.  The track will also change to a 20 car starting field for all classes for 2014.  If 22 or fewer cars are in attendance, all will start the feature.  If 23 or more are in attendance, only 20 will start the feature event.  This move was made in order to provide better racing, more racing room in the feature event and  the potential for more B-Mains to provide added excitement.

Other items of note from the tentative 2014 schedule:  Quincy will get it’s first ever MOWA Sprint Week Event on Thursday July 24th, A Night of Destruction will return on Memorial Day Monday May 26, 305 Sprint Cars will race on at least two occasions, and a special 360 sprint car event including Brockway Mechanical Sprint Invaders will be held August 16th with details to be released soon.

Finally, start times for the 2014 season will be 6:00p.m. for the entire season.  A new and improved website will be launched within the next few days and the start time details and related information will be available on the new Quincy Raceways website at www. QuincyRaceways.com.
