NDRL - National Dirt Racing LeagueMENOMONIE, WI (January 8) – As they have for each of the past four seasons, Jimmy Mars and his Mars Racing team will open up their 2014 campaign this upcoming weekend at the Tucson International Raceway in Tucson, Arizona. The National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) will sanction the ‘Winter Extreme’ for the first time and six high-profile events will take place at TIR from January 11-19. A $3,000 top prize will be on the line on January 11, 15, and 17, while a $5,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs on January 12 and 18. The ‘Winter Extreme’ finale at TIR on Sunday, January 19 boasts a $10,000 payday.

Following their yearly pilgrimage to Tucson, the #28 team is scheduled to make their first trip to the El Paso Speedway Park in El Paso, Texas. The NDRL tour will once again preside over the dirt-slinging action at El Paso, as the ‘Battle at the Border’ will be made up of a trio of programs from January 24-26. Friday’s opener at EPSP will pay $3,000 to win, while Saturday and Sunday’s showdowns will both be headlined by $5,000 winning purses. All nine NDRL races in Arizona and Texas will be non-points events. You can read additional information about both the ‘Winter Extreme’ and the ‘Battle at the Border’ by pointing your web browser to www.thendrl.com.

“It is no secret that we didn’t perform the way we wanted to last year, but I am really revved up to turn things around in 2014,” quoted Mars, who finished third in the inaugural 2013 NDRL point standings. “We were close to some big wins last year that would have made our season look a lot different, but for one reason or another, we didn’t get the job done. It wasn’t like we couldn’t get our MB Customs cars to go fast because a lot of our clients had banner years, whether it was in a Late Model or Modified. Everyone at Mars Racing worked really hard over the off-season and I am excited about our program heading into Tucson and El Paso.”

Jimmy will get a chance to see how his cars perform before he shows up at Tucson, as he will participate in a test session later tonight at the Arizona Speedway, which is located on the grounds of the Et Motopark in Queen Creek, Arizona. The Menomonie, Wisconsin standout will be joined by fellow MB Customs drivers Jason Krohn, Rodney Sanders, and Joey Moriarty. Since 2010, Jimmy has two victories at Tucson International Raceway and has racked up an astounding fifteen Top Five performances.

Mars Racing would like to thank all of their supporters including: Deppe Enterprises, T.L.
