Dennis Erb, Jr. Slated to Kick Off ’14 Season with Burst of Fifteen Events Down South

Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) After a couple of months since they concluded their 2013 racing season in mid-November, Dennis Erb Racing will trek south soon to start their 2014 campaign during “Speedweeks” in Georgia and Florida. Dennis Erb, Jr., who plans to compete full-time with both the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) in ’14, will kick off his season with a flurry of events from February 6-22. In all and weather pending, Dennis will tackle a total of fifteen (15) high-profile shows at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia, East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida, and Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida.

The action will start at Golden Isles from February 6-8, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will preside over the ‘Super Bowl of Racing.’ A $5,000 top prize will be on the line in Thursday’s opener, which will be a non-points event. The first two point races for the LOLMDS will take place at GIS on Friday and Saturday with both weekend tilts paying $10,000 to the winner. In addition, the final two programs of the ‘Super Bowl of Racing’ will be filmed by the Lucas Oil Production Studios for broadcast on the MAVTV Network in 2014.

After Brunswick, the #28 team will trek further south to the Tampa, Florida area, as the 38th Annual ‘Winternationals’ will take place at East Bay Raceway Park from February 10-15. The six Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles at the “Clay by the Bay” will feature over $200,000 in purse money, with the winner’s receiving between $5,000 and $10,000 each night. History will be made on Thursday, February 13 at the 1/3-mile oval when the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will air LIVE on the MAVTV Network at 9:30 PM EST. The Friday and Saturday showdowns at East Bay, which both pay $10,000 to win, will also be taped by the Lucas Oil Production Studios for broadcast later in the year.

Dennis’ yearly “Speedweeks” journey will conclude at Volusia Speedway Park from February 17-22 with the annual running of the ‘DIRTcar Nationals’ Presented by Summit Racing Equipment. The UMP DIRTcar Series and World of Outlaws Late Model Series will both sanction a trio of dirt-slinging specials at the Daytona Beach area speedplant. The first two nights at VSP will pay $7,000 to win, while the final four ‘DIRTcar Nationals’ shows boast a $10,000 winner’s check.
