(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) continued their strong start to 2014 during “Speedweeks” in the Sunshine State of Florida from February 10-22. Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer competed in nine total feature events at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida and Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida and racked-up two victories, four Top Fives, and six Top Tens. Both trips to victory lane occurred at East Bay and Billy now has 23 career ‘Winternationals’ wins to his credit.

On February 11 at the “Clay by the Bay,” Billy picked up career victory #777, as he worked his way past leader Steve Francis on the 22nd circuit and led the final four laps to grab the $5,000 payday. The Batesville, Arkansas legend bested Francis, Brandon Sheppard, Eddie Carrier, Jr., and Don O’Neal in the Tuesday night affair at East Bay. Billy also enjoyed the spoils of victory on Friday, February 14, as he started the 50-lapper from the pole position and led the exciting race on three different occasions. The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” then grabbed the point for good on lap 44 from John Blankenship and led the remainder of the distance to claim the $10,000 top prize over Blankenship, Scott Bloomquist, Don O’Neal, and Gregg Satterlee!

Other top five “Speedweeks” performances for the #21 team came in front of a LIVE MAVTV television audience at East Bay on February 13 and in a $10,000 to win UMP DIRTcar Series battle at Volusia on February 19. Billy led the first 37 circuits in the Thursday televised showdown at EBRP before settling for a strong runner-up performance behind only victor Dennis Erb, Jr., while he paced the stellar field for the first nineteen circuits at VSP last Wednesday before eventually winding up fifth behind only winner Scott Bloomquist, Dale McDowell, Eric Wells, and Darrell Lanigan. Billy and the BMR team are currently in Alabama for the first points race of the season for the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL). The 17th Annual ‘Bama Bash’ will take place this weekend (February 28-March 1) at the historic East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama. Things will kick off with qualifying and heat races at EAMS on Friday night, while the action will really heat up on Saturday evening with consolation events and the 75-lap A-Main. Billy, who will start his defense of the 2013 NDRL Championship, will be shooting for the hefty $17,017 winner’s check this weekend in the ‘Bama Bash.’ Additional information on this two-day extravaganza can be found online by clicking on www.thendrl.com.
