(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) Brady Smith Racing is off to a hot start in 2014, as they recently finished up a very successful “Speedweeks” in the southern states of Georgia and Florida. Brady Smith unloaded his new Rocket Chassis for eleven events at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia, Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida, and Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida from February 7-22. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin ace was fast right out of the box, as he accumulated one victory, five Top Fives, and seven Top Tens, while transferring to the feature event each night against top-shelf “Speedweeks” competition.

The highlight of Brady’s southern swing was obviously his win, which came in the ‘Bubba Army Late Model Winter Nationals’ opener at Bubba Raceway Park on Friday, February 14. Brady clicked off the sixth fastest lap in World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying prior to winning his heat race over Darrell Lanigan, Mike Marlar, and Rick Eckert. After drawing the pole position before the 35-lap main event, Brady set sail behind the wheel of his new Rocket racecar. He led from flag-to-flag en route to the $7,000 triumph over Brandon Sheppard, Darrell Lanigan, Rick Eckert, and Tim Fuller!

That victory started a five day surge by the #2 team, which saw them land on the podium each night. Brady closed out the ‘Bubba Army Late Model Winter Nationals’ at BRP with second and third place performances, while he started out the ‘DIRTcar Nationals’ at Volusia with a pair of runner-up efforts. By virtue of his strong start to 2014 – particularly at Ocala and Volusia – Brady currently finds himself third in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point standings, only twenty-two markers out of the top spot. It is unclear at this time when and where the Brady Smith Racing team will take to the track next. Brady is currently mulling over his options and his plans for the rest of the season.
