Texas Motor Speedway and Lucas Oil ASCS Confirm September Double-Header

ASCS - American Sprint Car SeriesTULSA, Okla. (March 5, 2014) – Officials with the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track and Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real have confirmed their 2014 visit with a first time double-header at the four-tenths mile clay oval.

A part of the Port-a-Cool U.S. Dirt Track Championship for the past two years, the ASCS National Tour along with the Smiley’s Racing Products Lone Star Region and American Bank of Oklahoma Sooner Region will join the all-star weekend, which includes a who’s who of Open Wheel Modifieds, on Friday, September 12 and Saturday, September 13.

“We really enjoy being a part of the Texas Motors Speedway Dirt Track and are very happy to see our visit become a two day event. We can’t thank everyone involved enough for making this weekend a reality for our drivers and fans,” commented ASCS National Director, Matt Ward. “Being associated with the event is great for the series and the sport. It brings notoriety to what we do.”

Other event details including ticket prices and start times will be released in the coming weeks.

Becoming a part of the Port-a-Cool U.S. Dirt Track Championship in 2012, Jason Johnson stands as the defending champion of the Sprint Car portion of the event in as many years. The Stenhouse, Jr. Racing / Curb-Agajanian No. 41 currently holds fifth in National Tour standings following the 2104 season opener at the Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz.
