Jerod Roller charges to career third USCS win at Poplar Bluff Speedway

USCSPoplar Bluff, MO – March 22, 2014 – Jerod Roller from Hernando, Mississippi started from the K&N Filters Pole Position , then raced to a hard-fought United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters career-third win in the winged sprint car portion of the 7th Annual “Bootheel 200” Weekend of Speed at Poplar Bluff Speedway on Saturday night. Roller held of third starting two-time All Star Circuit of Champions titlist and Midwest top gun Greg Wilson from Benton Ridge, Ohio chased the 2010 USCS Mid South Thunder regional series Rookie of the Year the entire distance to the www.rockauto.com USCS victory lane. Roller prevailed att he finish over Wilson, Anthony Nicholson from Bartlett, Tennessee, ten-time series Champion, Terry Gray also from Bartlett, Tennessee and 2013 USCS National Sprint Car Champion and twice 2014 USCS feature winner, Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas who completed the top five finishers.

Another past Rookie of the Year (2010 National) and the only female in the field, Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee finished ahead of the next group of drivers in sixth place. Kyle Bellm from Nixa, Missouri finished in the seventh position. Former series Chanmpion, Eddie Gallagher from Olive Branch, Mississippi followed in eighth place. The evening’s Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award recipient, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas started last and charged to ninth place att he finish followed by fourteen year-old 2013 USCS Mid South regional series Rookie of the Year, Taylor Tidmore from Hernando, Mississippi who completed the top ten drivers.

Tim Crawley won the 6 cars, 6 laps Hoosier Tire Speed Dash. Derek Hagar won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat. Terry Gray then won the Butlerbuilt Second Heat. Tim Crawley advanced the most positions in the 25-lap main event to earn the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award.

The next USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint car event will the two-day 3rd Annual Toccoa Tangle at Toccoa Speedway in Toccoa, Georgia on Friday and Saturday, March 28th and 19th. The event includes the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged minisprints plus Late model and Stock Car Racing each night.
