Springfield Raceway Ready For B Mod Nationals

Springfield RacewaySpringfield, Mo.- The “Quick-Quarter” of the Springfield Raceway will be back in action this weekend with the running of the 2nd annual Liquid Nitro B Modified Nationals as over 100 drivers have filed entries for the $6600 to win $1200 to start 66 lap feature on Saturday Night April 12th.

Drivers from over 10 different states and Canada have filed entries with the best in weekly B Modified racing head to head as the pack vies for a purse in excess of over $40,000.

Defending event winner Casey Arneson will attempt to put another Missouri win under his belt as he captured this event last season at the West Plains Speedway. Other top out of state entries include Kansas veteran Randy”The Z-Man” Zimmerman, North Dakota’s Scott Bintz, USRA Iron Man Champion Cory Crasper and a host of others. Representing Missouri will be Gary Clark of Walker, Kansas City B Mod ace Mike Higley, Turkey Classic winners Shawn Strong of Republic and Kris Jackson of Lebanon while the tough Springfield Raceway Reliable Chevrolet B Mod regulars and past champions Billy Street of Joplin, Mike Watson of Springfield, Wayne Graybeal of Springfield, Bobby Maggard Jr. of Republic and defending champion JC Morton of Springfield along with Trevor Drake of Webb City and a host of others to defend their track status.

Activities will start Wed. evening with a test and tune practice session which is Free to the Grandstands and general public from 6PM to 8PM.

Thursday will feature 12 action packed heats races and 10 last chance events along with the Qualifying A Feature to determine the first 4 spots filled to set the inside lane for Saturday Night.

Friday night will feature the same format as 4 more positions will lock-in for the Outside spots for Saturday’s big Event.

Saturday Night will have the B features to help fill out the field along with a special $1,000 to win Non-Qualifiers feature.

Also on Saturday USRA Modifieds will go to battle in heat races and a special $500 to win and $90 to start event in which drivers will earn USRA National points and the popular INEX Legends go wheel to wheel in a $250 to win and $35 to start feature along with qualifying heats and then the 66 lap feature for all the marbles.

 

Pit Passes are $35 each night. Grandstand Admission on Thursday and Friday will be $12 for Adults with kids 6-12 $5 and under 6 Free. Saturday Night’s Admission will be $15 for Adults while kids remain the same.

Time-lines

Thursday April 10th

Pit Gates open at 4PM, Grandstands 6PM Hot laps at 6:30 PM while drivers draw cut-off is 6PM. Racing at 7PM

Friday April 11th-same as Thursday-Hot laps if needed at 6:30-Racing at 7PM.

Saturday April 12th-Pit Gates open at 2:30, Grandstands at 4:30. IF NEEDED Hotlaps at 5:30. Racing at 6PM. USRA Modifieds and Legends Draw Cut-off 5:15.
