(Warrensburg, MO) Work continues on the grounds at Central Missouri Speedway but the track is ready to rock and roll for drivers hoping to shake their cars down one final time prior to opening night.
Saturday’s practice will take place in the early evening hours with gates opening at 4:30 and cars hitting the track at 6. The session is expected to last until approximately 9 p.m. All car classes are welcome to practice.
Last week 30 drivers and their teams showed up and despite a dusty start to the day, drivers were well satisfied with the track surface despite being out of commission for nearly three years.
Over 60 drivers have already registered with the speedway to compete this year, which marks the 19th year that Earl and Susan Walls will oversee operations. Although work will continue on the grounds of the speedway practice will take place as planned. Please excuse our construction as we continue to move closer to opening night April 26.
Grandstand admission is free to fans on the pit side, pit passes are $25 for anyone entering the pits. Limited concessions will be available during the practice sessions on the pit side of the speedway only. The length of the session will depend on the volume of cars participating. Season passes for race fans are now on sale at the track and may be purchased on-site from Susan Walls this weekend. Passes include ALL 21 scheduled race events at CMS throughout the year. Adult passes are just $215, Military w/I.D. and Senior Citizens 65+ passes $160, and Kids passes for those aged six to twelve are $100.
Prior to opening night, CMS invites you to our Grand Re-Opening and Official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, April 24 at 10 a.m. The event is free and takes place on the main grandstand side in the concessions area.
