CALVERT CITY, Ky. – The 2014 season continues Saturday night at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway. The regular program of racing will feature UMP Late Model, Modified, Pro (Crate) Late Model and Stock Car divisions in action on the 3/8-mile dirt oval.
First-place prize money will be $1,000 for a 20-lap Late Model feature, $700 for a 15-lap Modified feature, $600 for a 15-lap Pro Late Model main event and $500 for a 15-lap Stock Car main event.
Last week’s winners were Tanner English in Late Model, Trent Young in Modified, Troy English in Pro Late Model and Tony Cruse in Stock Car.
The pit gate will open at 3 p.m. and grandstands at 4. Practice will get under way at 5, qualifying at 6:30 and heat races are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $15. Seniors 60 and older and military (active, reserve or retired, with ID card) will be charged $12. Children 10 and under are admitted free.
Pit admission is $25, with a $35 charge for driver and car.
A grand opening special, the Bluegrass Nationals, is set for April 26. A 40-lap Late Model feature will headline the program, with $10,000 going to the winner. Extra prize money will be on tap for other divisions as well.
KLMS will be close on Saturday, May 3, because of a Lucas Oil Late Model Series race at Paducah International Raceway. Racing will resume on Saturday, May 10 and will continue throughout the season on Saturday nights.
Other special events to be held at the track will be announced in the near future.
