war sprintsCalifornia, MO(April 22, 2014)-After a successful debut at Callaway Speedway in Fulton, MO last Friday, the WAR Sprint Series presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps will compete at two more new tracks this weekend in Kansas and Missouri.

WAR will make an appearance at a Kansas track for the second time in its existence as they head to Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, KS on Friday April 25.  Billed as the” smoothest track in Southeast Kansas”, Humboldt is a high banked 3/8 mile oval that is sure to provide some great wheel to wheel racing for the WAR competitors.   Gates will open at 6PM with racing set for 8 PM.  Admission is $13 for adults and kids $5.  Please go to humboldtspeedway.com for any other information about this Friday’s race.

On Saturday April 26, WAR will head to Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg, MO to take part in the grand reopening of the high banked 3/8 mile oval.  The speedway has had some winged sprint car shows during its existence, but this marks the first time that a sanctioned non-winged group will compete here.  Racing is scheduled to start at 7 PM.    Admission for adults is $12, with military and senior citizens over 65 each being $10.  Kids 6 to 12 are free.  Pit passes will be $25.   Please go to centralmissourispeedway.net for any more information about Saturday’s race.

A pair of Kansas drivers will lead WAR into Humboldt.  Mitchell Moore, from Edgerton, has won both races this season and currently leads the season points.  Chad Goff, from Spring Hill, currently sits second in points and has two second place finishes to his credit.

Leading the Missouri contingent into the weekend will be 73 year old Bob Thoman.  Thoman, from Higginsville, has set fast time at both races this season and currently sits third in the season points with a third place finish to his credit.  Josh Stephens from Buckner is currently fourth in the season points with Pacific’s Pete Palazzolo rounding out the top five.

The trip to CMS will be extra special to one WAR competitor as Warrensburg’s Taylor Walton will get to race in front of his hometown fans.  Walton, last year’s WAR runner-up, is piloting the potent Jesse Hockett Racing #77 and will be a threat to pick up his first career WAR win.
