Batesville, Arkansas (04/30/14) – Billy Moyer Jr. has flirted with victory lane several times early in the 2014 season, but only had one triumph to show for his efforts in his #21jr Crop Production Services/Mesilla Valley Transportation/ Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model.  However, that all changed over the weekend as he scored back-to-back wins in Tennessee and Kentucky to continue his breakout season.

On Friday night at Camden Speedway (Camden, Tennessee) Billy went into battle with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series presented by Lucas Oil.  The 2009 CCSDS Champion, Moyer Jr. won his heat race from the third starting spot to earn the New Vision Graphics Pole Award for the 35 lap, $2,000-to-win affair.  Eric Hickerson joined Moyer Jr. on the front row for the main event.

Moyer Jr. jumped to the lead at the drop of the green flag, while Hickerson found himself trying to keep Jack Sullivan at bay for the runner-up spot.  Sullivan would ultimately work his way past Hickerson as he set his sights on Moyer Jr.  The Greenbrier, Arkansas driver, was able to pressure the leader on multiple occasions, but would ultimately fall short of overtaking Moyer Jr. as he led ever lap of the caution free event to score the win.  Sullivan, Hickerson, Kyle Beard, and Clay Fisher rounded out the top five finishers.

The victory was the twelfth of Billy Moyer Jr.’s career in CCSDS competition, and puts him second on the all-time win list for the series.  Full results from the event are available at www.COMPDirt.com.

Jr. Motorsports continued their stellar weekend on Saturday night as Billy raced to the $10,000 payday in the inaugural Bluegrass Nationals at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway (Calvert City, Kentucky).  Twenty-seven entries took part in the event, and after winning his heat race Moyer Jr. earned the outside-front-row starting spot alongside Kent Robinson for the feature. Billy battled past Robinson as the race went green to grab the lead. He went on to lead all 40 laps to score the second $10,000 victory of his young career.

“This Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn is the best thing I have ever sat in,” Moyer said of his winning ride.  “I just can’t say enough about Kevin Rumley and that entire Labonte (Longhorn) crew and my dad and all the guys back at the shop. We definitely have a strong hot rod and they’re going to have to contend with us this year.” He concluded by saying, “It’s fun to be up front, especially after we struggled so much last year.”

Robinson, Kent Robinson, Randy Korte, Michael Kloos, and Tanner English rounded out the top five finishers.  Full results from the event are available at www.KLMSLLC.com.

This weekend May 2nd-3rd, Billy will enter a pair of $10,000-to-win, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events in Illinois and Kentucky.  On Friday night action opens at Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois) before moving to Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Kentucky) on Saturday night.  For more information on the events, please visit www.LucasDirt.com .
