Eldora Speedway(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) In a late-week decision, Brian Shirley opted to pull off the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour and instead headed to Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri over the May 30-31 weekend. On Friday at Farmer City, the American Late Model Series (ALMS) sanctioned the ‘Douglas Dodge 50’ and a $5,000 winner’s check was on the line. Brian timed in second fastest in his group during qualifying and later scored the heat race win. After starting the 50-lapper from the pole position, Brian led early in the caution-free affair until a broken rack & pinion caused him to ultimately retire in the twenty-first spot.

At Pevely on Saturday, the MARS DIRTcar Series rolled into town to preside over another $5,000 to win program. Brian ran second in heat race action, which locked him into the inside of the fourth row for the start of the 40-lap feature event. The Chatham, Illinois ace then vaulted all the way to third in the A-Main before fading after a mid-race restart to finish eighth in the final rundown. Complete results from the doubleheader weekend can be accessed by clicking on www.dirtondirt.com.

This weekend, both Brian Shirley and teammate Jason Riggs will invade the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 5-7 for the 20th Annual ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ Two prelim nights will start things off at the “Big E” culminating in Twin 25s paying $2,500 to win each on Thursday night and $5,000 to win each on Friday evening. The stakes will raise in a hurry come Saturday at the hallowed 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant, as heat races and consolation events will precede the 100-lap ‘Dirt Late Model Dream,’ which once again boasts a huge $100,000 payday.

Brian has made four career starts in the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream,’ while Jason is seeking his first-ever start in our industry’s highest-paying race. Additional information concerning the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ weekend at Eldora can be found online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.
