DIRTcar Summer Nationals(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) Riggs Motorsports drivers Brian Shirley and Jason Riggs are fresh off an ultra-busy stretch on the UMP Summer Nationals tour, as seven races were scheduled in the states of Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan from June 17-23. Even with a couple of events succumbing to inclement weather, the action was fast and furious throughout the week. Brian turned up the heat on the competition over the past seven days, as he accumulated one victory, two Top Fives, and five Top Tens in the five series shows that escaped the grip of Mother Nature!

Brian’s first win of the 2014 “Hell Tour” came on Sunday evening, June 22 at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan! After experiencing motor woes in his primary car during hot laps, Brian unloaded his back-up machine and proceeded to sweep the night’s racing program. He set fast time overall during qualifying, won his heat race, and later led from flag-to-flag in the 40-lapper to score the $5,000 triumph over Shannon Babb, Ryan Unzicker, Brandon Sheppard, and Dona Marcoullier! The Chatham, Illinois ace currently sits a strong fourth in the latest version of the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals point standings, but only 36 markers out of the top spot.

Jason also competed in all five feature events held over the last week and his best finish was an eleventh place effort (twice). The Harrisburg, Illinois upstart driver knocked on the door to the top ten on June 17 at Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa and on June 22 at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan. Jason finds himself seventh in the series point battle after eight completed shows. You can read a race-by-race recap by logging onto www.RiggsMotorsports.com.

With no rest for the weary, the UMP Summer Nationals continues on starting tonight, June 25 at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee. In all and weather pending, the Riggs Motorsports transporters will snake through the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Illinois over the next five days for a handful of lucrative showdowns. Catch Brian Shirley and Jason Riggs in action at the following venues this week:

June 25 | Clarksville Speedway (Clarksville, TN), UMP SN | $5,000 to win
