DIRTcar Summer Nationals(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team rolled into Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina and Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on June 20-21 for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilts, which both paid $10,000 to the winner. On Friday night in the annual ‘Grassy Smith Memorial’ at Cherokee, Dennis timed in tenth fastest during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the fifth transfer spot in his heat race. After starting the 50-lap feature from the inside of the seventh row, Dennis wound up twelfth in the final rundown at the historic South Carolina facility.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series then presided over their first-ever event at Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday, as another $10,000 payday was on the line. Dennis posted the twentieth quickest lap during qualifying and later finished sixth in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the ninth row in the 50-lap main event, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace was able to pick off twelve competitors in his new BWRC car to claim a strong fifth place effort behind only victor Casey Roberts, Jonathan Davenport, Scott Bloomquist, and Don O’Neal. Dennis still sits ninth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the doubleheader in the Southeast. Full results can be accessed online by visiting www.lucasdirt.com.
