Lebanon-I-44-Speedway“Our Town Your Town” is Entertainment for All

Lebanon, Mo / June 25, 2014 – For Immediate Release

This Saturday night the Ozarks Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper Bottling Company activate their partnership with the Lebanon I-44 Speedway following a very successful “Our Town Your Town” Celebration presented by the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce last weekend.

At all participating retailers in the Lebanon, Rolla, Waynesville, St. Robert, Camdenton and surrounding areas, there are specially marked 20 oz. Coke products with a special sticker that acts as the fans grandstand ticket to the races this Saturday night.

The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Stock Car Racing Action at Missouri’s only active asphalt oval and NASCAR Sanctioned Short-Track will be in full force Saturday night. Drivers will compete in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Pro Late Models, Budweiser Modifieds, Monster Energy Sportsman, Keyser Manufacturing Road Warriors and the popular Coca-Cola Chargers for a Lebanon I-44 Speedway track championship as well as a NASCAR Missouri State championship and NASCAR National championship.

Saturday Night will feature the 1st Kids ride along night as Kids 10 and under will get the chance to ride 1 lap in an actual race car at intermission and the Coca-Cola Chargers will be competing in a Special Non-Points Barrel Race later in the evening after they run their normal point’s race. There will be a barrel placed on both the front stretch and on the backstretch and the Charger drivers will make a circle around each barrel as they make laps around the track. This will provide something different for the drivers and fans alike and should provide plenty of fun and thrills.

With the Monster Energy Championship Chase reaching the half-way point, drivers are trying to position themselves for a Championship run.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts Pro Late Models have seen 6 different winners in 6 feature events as 15 year old Kaleb Allison of Mexico, Missouri leading the pack with a slim 46 point lead over Lebanon’s Brennon Willard. Stoutland’s JC Newell is only 1 point behind Willard. Drivers in the winner’s circle for 2014 to this point have been Kaleb Allison, Brennon Willard, JC Newell, Austin Fullerton, Jake Griffin and Kevin Donahue. All except Willard are 18 years old or younger showing the great young talent on hand.

The Budweiser Modifieds have produced 4 different winners as Fair Grove’s Stephen Counterman is hanging on to a slim 9 point margin over last year’s Rookie Of The Year Richard Lewis of Willard while popular veteran Tim Swearengin is closing ground quickly. Lebanon’s Chris Johnson is only 1 behind Swearengin and 2 time winner Ricky Icenhower is just 6 points behind Johnson. Counterman has 1 appearance in winners circle while Swearengin, Icenhower and David Bates all have 2 wins as the Ground-Pounders keep things exciting.

Monster Energy Sportsman point leader Paul Jepsen of Rolla has opened-up a 26 point lead over Ozark’s Toby Harden after his win last Saturday as the field enjoyed some new entries last week. Veteran JC Newell sets a solid 3rd in the points as last year’s Road Warrior Champion Justin Blake of Lebanon is climbing up the ladder and was leading some laps Saturday night. Jepsen has 4 wins while Harden has 2 victories.

The Keyser Manufacturing Road Warriors have enjoyed strong car counts all season as well as great battles for the win. Exeter’s Carl Harlow leads the points by 74 over hard-charging Les Mallard of Fair Grove who has 1 win this season. Neosho’s Geoff Ledford has 2 wins against Harlow’s 3 but has been with the leader almost every night. The real battle is for 3rd place as Lebanon’s Michael Juergensen is only 1 point ahead of Mike Funcannon while Tony Johnson is holding off Nick Cherry by only 15 points for 5th and Ledford is quickly gaining ground after a mechanical failure caused him to miss a feature early in the season.

A new point leader in the Coca-Cola Chargers has Rolla’s Ben White taking advantage of both Jordan Nisbett and Jason Walls mechanical issues on Saturday night to vault up to the top spot. White is only holding a 7 point advantage over last week’s winner 18 year old lady driver Lauren Buhr. Buhr drove a perfect feature last week with White really putting on pressure to become the 4th different winner this season. Walls is only 1 point behind Buhr and Nisbett is only 30 points behind the leader and defending champion Jimmy Poindexter is just 33 behind. Nisbett has 3 wins while Walls has 2 with Buhr and Poindexter with solo wins.

The gates open at 5 with racing to start at 7PM. To keep up to date be sure to visit the website at www.i44speedway.net and join the thousands of followers on Facebook that have “liked” our page for up to date information.
