DIRTcar Summer Nationals(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) Brady Smith and his #2 team hit the road with the grueling UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour last week, as they traveled to four different venues in the Land of Lincoln from June 18-21. Unfortunately, Mother Nature took two victories in that four-day span, so Brady was only able to get two events into the record book. His best run came last Wednesday at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois.

Brady knocked down the fifth quickest lap in Group B during qualifying and later placed second in heat race action at Spoon River. After starting the $5,000 to win, 40-lap main event from the outside of the third row, the Solon Springs, Wisconsin star was able to move up three positions on the reworked racetrack in the feature to claim a strong third place outing behind only winner Jason Feger and runner-up Ryan Unzicker. You can read a race-by-race recap from these four days by pointing your web browser to www.bradysmithracing.com.

Next up for the Brady Smith Racing team will be three more UMP Summer Nationals stops this upcoming weekend (June 27-29) in the states of Kentucky, Missouri, and Illinois. Brady will tackle $10,000 to win programs on Friday night at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky and on Saturday evening at Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. The extended weekend for the #2 team will then conclude on Sunday with a trip to Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois for a $5,000 to win showdown.
