DIRTcar Summer Nationals(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) dropped back in on the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals trail last week in a trio of events in Illinois and Indiana from July 4-6. In those three “Hell Tour” appearances, Billy Moyer accumulated one victory and two additional Top Five performances. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer recorded his first-ever series win at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana on Sunday night, which marked his 85th career tour triumph. Billy won his heat race in preliminary action, started the feature from the pole position, and led all forty circuits at the southwestern Indiana facility to pick up the $5,000 payday over Austin Dillon, Randy Korte, Bobby Pierce, and Ryan Unzicker!

Earlier in the 4th of July holiday weekend, the #21 team was in the pit area at both Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois and Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois. On Friday night at Fayette County, Billy ran third in his heat race prior to picking off eight competitors during the $7,500 to win main event. “Mr. Smooth” ultimately crossed the finish line third in the caution-free affair behind only victor Brandon Sheppard and runner-up Jason Feger. At Highland on Saturday, Billy won his heat race before slipping back to fifth in the $10,000 to win A-Main to finish behind only winner Tyler Reddick, Brandon Sheppard, Brian Shirley, and Bobby Pierce. You can read a complete race-by-race recap from these three events by pointing your web browser to www.billymoyer.com.

“We had a good weekend with the Summer Nationals, especially Sunday with the win at Haubstadt,” quoted Moyer this week. “The car was fast right off the trailer and we just made little changes to it throughout the night. That place (Tri-State Speedway) always keeps you on your toes and guessing, but we made the right decisions and everything worked out. I just have to thank my crew for working so hard on these Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn cars and of course all of my great sponsors for their continued help and support!”

Three more UMP Summer Nationals showdowns await the BMR team this week in the states of Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa. Billy will roll into Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana tonight, July 9, for a $5,000 to win race. Following a day off on Thursday, Billy will complete the tripleheader with a pair of $10,000 to win programs on Friday at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and on Saturday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa.
