Springfield, MO: Springfield Raceway officials announced today that Liquid Nitro Energy Drinks has signed to be the Title Sponsor of the Aug 2nd USMTS Hunt race at the ¼ mile high banked oval. After a (4) year hiatus the Nations premier Modified Series makes its return to Springfield Raceway. The 2009 event was highlighted with a battle between local racing icon Terry Phillips and his then teammate Jeremy Payne, with Payne taking the win over Phillips and the rest of the touring Modified hot shoes.
The USMTS (United States Modified Touring Series) is a national touring organization with drivers from multiple different states competing at premier dirt tracks around the country. When the touring drivers come to town the local racers get to test their abilities up against their National counterparts on the same playing field. Weekly Springfield modified racers like 4 time track champion Jackie Dalton (Carthage), Jody Tillman (Branson West), Brian Green (Pierce City), Bobby Pearish (Oronogo) will be a few of the locals that will strap in and go up against the traveling big guns. Toss in Late Model standout Terry Phillips and Springfield resident Jeremy Payne and you have one of the seasons most sought after race ticket in the region. Support classes include B-Mods, MW Mods and Legends.

Tickets for the USMTS event are $20 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12 and 5 and under is free. Pit gates open at 4pm, grandstand gates open at 5:30pm, with hot laps starting at 6:50 and the first heat race hits the track at 7:30 sharp.
