Lebanon-I-44-SpeedwayCole Williams Coming Back to his “Home Track” to Support Warriors Saturday Night

Lebanon, Mo / August 14, 2014 – For Immediate Release

Defending NASCAR Missouri State Whelen All-American Series and Lebanon I-44 Speedway Track Champion Cole Williams will be returning home to the track that brought his name out in front of the Asphalt Short-Track World in 2013 as they have announced they will be competing in The Wheels For Warriors 50 lap Pro Late Model Feature Saturday Night at “The High-Banks” of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway.

Williams, of Sellersburg, Indiana who made the trip every Saturday Night in 2013 to compete at the I-44 Speedway was rewarded by clean sweeping the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Missouri State Championship, Missouri State Rookie Of The Year and the I-44 Track Championship in a hard fought battle with Matt Wallace, which went down to the final night and final laps. Williams was also voted as the Most Popular Weekly Short-Track Asphalt Late Model driver in a contest held by website Speed51.com while racing at Lebanon I-44 Speedway.

“Our family and team have been looking forward to an off weekend in our schedule so we could come back to our “Home Track” I-44 Speedway. This is a perfect night for us to be able to come back and support the troops in the Wheels For Warriors Night At The Races.” quoted Cole’s Father Terry Williams.

Williams, who has a strong record at I-44 Speedway, was leading the high profile Mercy Masters of the Pro’s event in May at I-44 when a tire issue sent him to the pits while leading the event. This season Williams has been running the Monthly Special Events at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway and is currently 2nd in that hard fought series point standings.

” I love everything about I-44 Speedway…the track, the fans, the atmosphere. It will be great to get back “Home at the “High-Banks.” “We couldn’t have picked a better time to race as it is honoring our Warriors and the true heroes. Without them we wouldn’t be able to do what we love.” quoted Cole Williams.

The Wheels For Warriors event will feature a huge car and bike show during the afternoon with proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Fund along with the Sleeper Fire Dept. A poker run, games, food and raffles will be going on during the event while the judging will start at 3pm as the Budweiser “Wildside” Tier Parking Turn 1 area will serve as the perfect setting for this event.

Gates for the Monster Energy Championship Chase will open at 5pm with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Pro Late Models set to qualify for the Wheels for Warriors 50 at 7pm.
