Mark Burgtorf, Brian Lynn, Brandon Savage, Joey Gower and Kimberly Abbott all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday August 24 during the Casey’s General Stores Racing Series.

Burgtorf jumped into the lead of the Kirk Start UMP Super Late Model main event at the drop of the green flag and pulled away to a dominating win, his first of the year at Quincy. Burgtorf finished almost a half a lap ahead of his nearest competitor, Gordy Gundaker in second. Denny Woodworth held off Jason Perry for third with Rich Bell in fifth. Woodworth set fast time for the night with Perry and Justin Reed taking the heat race wins.

Brian Lynn made his third ever appearance at Quincy a memorable one as the “Mail Man” led every lap of the twenty five lap Miller Lite UMP Modified feature event. Michael Long challenged Lynn several times but was unable to overtake the Mason City, Il. Driver and had to settle for the second spot. Kenny Wallace scored third followed by Shawn Deering in fourth and Rusty Griffaw in fifth. Kenny Wallace set fast time and won the first heat race with Michael Long taking the other heat win.
The Car Count in the Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Cars may have been down but the action sure wasn’t as Brandon Savage and Abe Huls battled tooth and nail over the closing laps for the feature event win. Savage held off Huls by a fender to take the win with Huls settling for the second spot. Terry Houston scored third followed by Jerry Jansen in fourth and Troy Brierton in fifth. Jansen took the heat race win.

Joey Gower took the lead of the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMod feature event on the third lap and held Adam Birck at bay the rest of the distance to claim the main event win. Birck settled for second followed by Tony Dunker in third, Bobby Anders Jr. in fourth and Tanner Klingele in fifth. Anders and Dunker were the heat race winners.

Kimberly Abbott worked her way through the IMCA Sport Compact field to take the lead of the feature event on the third lap and held off Sieth Woodruff to take her third feature win of the year. Woodruff settled for second followed by Rachall Reger in third, Adam Scott in fourth and Darin Weisinger Jr. in fifth. Austen Bercerra and Brandon Lambert were the heat race winners.
